Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Provide leadership to military and civilian pharmacy technicians. Support them and other staff groups in sourcing and handling medicines across the organisation.
• Extract, manipulate and analyse data to propose changes and monitor their impact.
• Lead and deliver specific medicines management quality improvement projects.
• Develop training and other resources to support staff to implement medicines management policy.
• Provide in-depth and often complex advice on sourcing and safe management of medicines, communicated in an effective way to relative to the audience as well as responding to medication queries from other healthcare professionals.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home. Travel to different MOD sites may occasionally be required

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) as a pharmacy technician
• Completion of a GPhC approved course for pharmacy technicians. For example, a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

• Experience of working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician at a senior level
