Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the Defence Medical Services (DMS) to achieve high quality, safe and cost effective prescribing and medicines management (MM) in military settings, including the United Kingdom (UK) firm base, Overseas and on deployed operations.
The post holder will support the HQ DMS senior pharmacists to ensure compliance with medicines legislation and delivery of high quality, safe and effective medicines management are met across defence.

Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership to military and civilian pharmacy technicians. Support them and other staff groups in sourcing and handling medicines across the organisation.
- Extract, manipulate and analyse data to propose changes and monitor their impact.
- Lead and deliver specific medicines management quality improvement projects.
- Develop training and other resources to support staff to implement medicines management policy.
- Provide in-depth and often complex advice on sourcing and safe management of medicines, communicated in an effective way to relative to the audience as well as responding to medication queries from other healthcare professionals.
